Local Pastor Carries a Vision to Train Others in Ministry with a Second Floor Add-On for a Bible College
Outside the capital city of Nicaragua, most people do not have any form of transportation, and, because of this, churches tend to sprout up in neighborhoods so that people do not need to depend on the unreliable public transportation to attend a larger church farther away.
Pastor Ali Melendez has a heart to train and mentor the leaders of these smaller congregations, and his vision was to build a modest Bible college to do so.
YKPM assisted him in his vision by raising the funds to construct a second story on a home he owns just a few steps from where he and his wife reside.
This second story is now used as a school to train and mentor pastors. If they can afford it, these pastors-in-training only pay two dollars a week to attend. Charis Bible College (through Andrew Wommack Ministries), generously donated much of the teaching materials translated into Spanish.
With the role Pastor Ali plays mentoring many other neighborhood pastors in his area, relying on public transportation often limits his efforts. So, YKPM also raised funds to provide him a motorcycle he can rely on.
All of this happened when Nicaragua was experiencing violence, government instability and shortages of all kinds, including some of the building materials needed to complete this project.
But, despite the civil unrest and closed borders in Nicaragua at the time, God provided a way. What a testimony to the people in these cities to see God’s provision coming through against the backdrop of so much turmoil in their nation.
Through the work of Pastor Ali and other pastors, the Gospel is being spread in Central America.
YKPM raised a little more than $22,800 for the Bible school and motorcycle for Pastor Ali.
